The commission
Zarza Radio broadcasts in eight languages and commissioned one track for each. The point was not to do the minimum, but to do everything with excellence: that is why these are eight songs that stand on their own, with the same production and the same mastering as anything else this artist has signed. Zarza Radio.
A deliberate change of verb: not «sounds» but vibrates. «Vibrer» is a fetish word of French radio; a French listener hears it and smells Parisian FM. She rhymes in -é (passé composé) and the radio in -i. This is the version with the inversion: she puts on the radio in Spanish and the call comes in from Tokyo, because Paris is the Frenchman’s home.
The lyrics stay in the language of the track and are not translated: they are the work.

It is a deliberate change of verb. “Vibrer” is a fetish word of French radio: a French listener hears it and smells Parisian FM. “Sonner” would have been the correct translation and the wrong choice.
From Tokyo. In the other versions the call comes from Paris, but Paris is the Frenchman’s home: here she has to run further for the joke to work. And she runs to Spanish, not to French, for the same reason.
She rhymes in -é, in passé composé (bloqué, tourné, terminé), and the radio in -i (ici, dormir, fuir, sourire). The tense does half the work: what she did is over and closed; what the radio does is still playing.
“Ce hit c’est ma honte”. The word is kept uncomfortable on purpose, as in the Spanish original: it is the author’s decision and all eight versions respect it.
Four minutes and forty-two seconds. It is the shortest of the eight, and that fits its character: the French version is the elegant one, not the longest.
